Raf is (like Lord Seminon) a winged god of Mid-World and from this he has gained many legends concerning his speed and agility.
People of the Inner Baronies believe he can run so fast he can run across the Clean Sea without sinking beneath the water, whilst people of the Western Baronies believe tornados are caused by him running across the prairies. A gunslinger is taught to be as quick as Raf when drawing their guns.
He is often depicted with wings on his legs or feet and acts as a guide for taking people to the clearing at the end of the path.
He can be considered the equivalent of the Greek god, Hermes, and the Roman god, Mercury.
