Moses Carver is the god-father of Susannah Dean and a founding member of the Tet Corporation. He is the only surviving member of the Ka-Tet of the Rose in 1999 despite being 100 years old. He was a member of the Rev. Earl Harrigan's Church of the Holy God-Bomb.

In his younger days, he partnered with Dan Holmes to make Holmes Dental into a multi-million dollar business. After being approached by John Cullum in 1977, Carver folded Holmes Dental into the Tet Corporation. After Cullum's death, he held onto Aunt Talitha's Cross until Roland Deschain came to retrieve it. He stepped down as President of Tet in 1997 and passed it on to Marian Carver, his daughter.
